The Samaritan is a contemporary Kenyan novel that draws on the biblical parable of the Good Samaritan to explore themes of compassion, prejudice, community responsibility and moral courage in modern Kenya. Set against the backdrop of ethnic tensions, economic inequality and urban-rural divides, the novel asks who our neighbours truly are and what we owe each other as human beings.
